The Latin X Dance Studio was formed in October of 2000. The Latin-American dance craze was popular and Latin dance classes were in need on the Southside. Hence Runcorn studio was born. The first nine students grew and now Latin X currently runs six studio locations in Brisbane specializing in Latin-American Street Dancing. (Nightclub Latin) and X-Funk/Hip Hop.

Latin X specializes in the Latin-American dance styles, the Salsa, the Merengue and the Cha Cha! These styles are very popular in the clubs and are great social dance styles. And another style at Latin X is the ever-popular: Funk/Hip Hop! Great for fitness and improving overall coordination and presence! And in 2011, Latin Fitness will join the timetable! Perfect for beginners and aimed at people who don't want to dance with a partner!

The studio is managed and run by Veronika Stutz. Veronika has had over 25 years of experience in dance ranging from Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Funk/Hip Hop, Modern, Ballroom Latin and many more styles. Veronika is a sought out performer, choreographer and instructor and is best known for her fun and energetic teaching approach. Veronika oversees the Latin X curriculum and is always looking for new and exciting elements to keep Latin X in the forefront of Latin and Funk/Hip Hop dance classes in Brisbane!

Latin X holds 4 levels of Latin Classes for beginners to advanced right through to our two performance teams, ‘X-Troop’, and the ’LX Funk/Hip Hop Team’, and in 2006 the Latin X ‘X-Troop’ was awarded 2nd Place in the National Salsa Championships.

In 2004, Latin X introduced a series of ‘Short Courses’ in styles such as Tango, Gafieria, Lambada, Jive and Swing and due to popular demand, the Short Courses will continue throughout 2011 to offer our students more variety and ability.

Each of the classes have specialized programs that make learning enjoyable and rewarding. All of the Latin X classes is instructed by caring and experienced instructors that not only enjoy teaching but also have a personal passion for Latin-American dance and music.

Latin X was awarded the Quest Business Achievers Award for Best in Tuition in 2005 and prides itself in quality instruction in a fun and positive environment.

Latin X has grown from friendships and the love of dance and music into the successful business it is today. And heading into the 11th year of operation, Latin X will continue to strive in offering quality dance classes for people from all works of life!
