Newsletter for September & October 2010:
Welcome to the September and October edition of our Newsletter. This has been a very bitter winter with many of students falling ill with the dreaded colds and flu’s. I even got a nasty case of tonsillitis and was out of action. So bring on Spring and lets dance away the excess winter freddo frogs and get ready for summer!
Well Ekka 2010 is over and I must say I am somewhat exhausted but very sad to see it end… This year was the best yet with every dancer and backstage assistant proving to be a vital part of the team and a true professional! It was memorable for all and I won’t forget the first time my little man made an appearance on stage! What a star!
Congratualtions to you all on a great show and all the laughs...Bring on 2011!
September and October will be more busy months with our Latin Fitness Courses, which is in popular demand due the latest ZUMBA craze!! So if you haven’t signed up yet...don’t wait, places are limited!
And if that isn’t your thing why not try the Hip Hop class or maybe a challenge with the Level 2 Latin Class?
The next Social Night will be held on Friday 24th September. We have had low numbers at our recent Social nights due to cold weather and social events, but in order to continue our Social nights, we need the support of our students and their friends.
Socials are an important part of developing social dance skills and building a dance repertoire...so get behind the Latin X Social nights and keep them happening! The more the merrier!
Lastly we are gearing up for our 2011 Sydney Salsa Congress Trip and for the first time, we are taking a Student Latin Team!

September Social Night:
Our next Social Dance Night will be held on Friday 24th September from 8pm at the Sherwood State School Hall...
This is a night for all of our students and their friends to practice their moves and build dance repertoire!
Doors open at 8pm with a FREE LESSON to be held at 8:30pm.
Special screenings of the Latin X Ekka 2010 Showcase, great music and excellent company.
$10ea and bring a plate of nibblies to share...See you there!
Latin Fitness continues to grow...:
Just like Zumba, the Latin X Latin Fitness class is growing bigger each month!
So why not join in and try the newest fitness craze!
Students will be learning Latin, funk and Brazilian moves danced to pumping tunes.
All fitness levels and ages are welcome to join.
The next two blocks will be:
* Tuesday 31st August—for 4 weeks
* Tuesday 28th September—for 4 weeks
at the Sherwood Studio from 6:15pm to 7pm.
Cost is $35ea or FREE for all Latin X Membership holders!

Latin X @ Ekka 2010:
The Latin X performance teams performed their crowd pleasing showcase again
at this years Royal Qld Show (Ekka)
and proved again why they are asked back year after year.
Every performer danced beautifully and their professional conduct as a team was outstanding.
Congratulations to all performers, a big thank you to all assistants and helpers and bring on 2011!
Fundraiser Pamper Night:
Latin X X-Troop will be hosting a ‘Ladies Only Pamper Night’
at the Sherwood Studio on Thursday 14th October from 7pm.
All proceeds goes to the Latin X X-Troop getting to the Sydney Salsa Congress and performing in January.
Cost is $25ea and limited to 60 ladies. There will be 6 stations of pampering, displays, cooking demonstrations,
auctions and fantastic give-aways! So get a girlfriend and book your ticket today!
Latin X takes Student Team to 2011 Sydney Salsa Congress:
The Sydney Salsa Congress is in the Top 3 Congresses in the world and
Latin X Dance Studio have been invited to bring a Student Latin Team
to the Sydney Salsa Congress for many years.
Now for first time, we are!
This is a very high honour and an exciting event for everyone involved!
The Congress Student routine will be taught in the next Student Team intake to begin on
Thursday 28th October and Veronika will discuss placement and selection with all the dancers enrolled.
All dancers must be current Latin X class students and all dancers must
collect a Performers Outline and Expectations form from Veronika.
This is an exciting opportunity for dancers so good luck to you all.
Look out Sydney...here we come!
